Marie I. Casenave
Massachusetts Institute for Health Careers
Marie I. Casenave is a young
lady who fled Port au Prince, Haiti and arrived in the U.S.
earlier this year. In Haiti, she worked for the national prison
system for fourteen years. Now residing in Boston, Marie decided
to switch careers to the health field and needed to learn
English. She chose the Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide
programs at the Massachusetts Institute for Health Careers,
a school that offers support to immigrants through English
as a Second Language (ESL). Marie has done an excellent job
in overcoming her language barrier and will be graduating
in May. Not only is Marie an eager student with an A
average, she always goes the extra mile in assisting her fellow
students with understanding the lessons. She is polite, respectful
and a motivated self-starter. Marie's superb interpersonal
skills have won her much respect that will continue to serve
her well in all her future endeavors.
