David Scott
ITT Technical Institute (Norwood)
Two years ago David Scott
from Dedham, who has Cerebral Palsy, enrolled at ITT Technical
Institute in Norwood, MA. He had hopes of improving his skills
and earning himself an Associate in Applied Science degree
in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design. From infancy to age
13, David moved around with the aid of a walker, until he
had some operations that unfortunately caused his muscles
to loosen up too much. Since then, David has managed himself
in a wheelchair. For two years, he attended evening classes,
maintaining an outstanding academic and attendance records.
As a member of the National Vocational Technical Honor Society
(NVTHS), he was always prepared for class and very eager to
assist his fellow students. David advocates handicapped accessibility
issues and is currently employed as a CAD operator with FM
Global. He plans to continue his education at the University
of Massachusetts or Northeastern University, with the goal
of becoming a civil engineer.
