Emily Taft
Blaine! The Beauty Career Schools (Hyannis)

Emily Taft was born with only one arm, but that did not prevent her from enrolling in the Advanced Aesthetic program at Blaine! The Beauty Career Schools in Hyannis, MA. She left her family home in Westboro, MA., and moved to Cape Cod with her grandparents in order to complete the 600-hour, 5 days per week course of study. Not once, in all that time did Emily ever consider herself handicapped; nor was there ever a task that she could not complete. Emily was given no special consideration by her teachers or her classmates yet she completed each and every assignment with great skill and confidence. Emily became one of the most requested student practitioners because of her waxing expertise. Emily graduated from Blaine in March 2002 with special awards for her waxing, massage and eyebrow design skills and is most deserving of this Achievement Award.
